Mabel Inman Howell

      Mrs. Mabel Inman Howell, age 79 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart.  She was born in Surry County, NC on July 30, 1943, to the late Ernest Inman and Hallie Lawson Inman Davis.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard William Howell; one son, Randall Howell; one brother, Ernest Junior Inman; and two sisters, Blanche Collins and Etta Mae Collins.  Mabel was an avid quilter, loved to sew, and loved cats.

       Surviving is four daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy Anne and Billy Quesenberry of Stuart, Sally and Greg Manley of King, NC, Mary and Stanley Hill of Stuart, Amy and DeWitt Clark of Roanoke; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Dixie Howell of Patrick Springs; 10 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; one sister, Rachel Martin of Danville; her beloved pet cat, Sam; and several nieces and nephews. 

       Funeral services will be held Monday, April 10, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastors J.R. Shelton and Tommy Nichols officiating.  Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, Patrick County Chapter, P. O.
