Madeline Beasley Goad

Mrs. Madeline Beasley Goad, age 87 of Stuart, died Monday, July 31, 2006 at R. J. Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. Madeline was born on February 26, 1919 in Patrick County to the late George W. and Vergie Beasley. After retirement, she and Burkes became RV'ers before settling in Ft. Meyers, Florida, for the winters and then back to Stuart for the rest of the year. She loved finding sea shells and sharks teeth, then used her amazing creativity to make beautiful crafts and furniture. She was a long time, faithful member of Stuart United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two beloved children, daughter Maria Goad Webster & husband, Jim, a son William Burkes Goad, II & wife, Janis; two wonderful grandchildren, Ashley Goad Broadhurst & husband, Jon and Christopher Michalec; 1 brother, Richard Beasley & wife, Dorothy, two nieces, Joan Martin Beasley and Peggy Beasley. She was preceded in death by a sister, Regina Beasley Ayers Puckett, and a brother, Winford P. Beasley. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is in charge of the arrangements. There will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation in her memory to the Stuart United Methodist Church, building fund, P. O. Box 946, Stuart, VA 24171, or to Hospice of Patrick County, 835 Woodland Dr., Suite 101, Stuart, VA 24171.
