Madelyn Iris Wilkins

Madelyn Iris Wilkins was born Saturday, October 10, 2015, to Joseph Mason Wilkins and Amanda Horton Wilkins. She passed away Monday, October 12, 2015, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Madelyn was an absolutely beautiful and precious miracle that fought so hard. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bill and Martha Wilkins; her great-grandparents, Bill Wilkins, Sr. and Mary Wilkins, Joe and Mildred Armfield, Joe and Iris Horton, and Neal Nester. In addition to her loving parents, she is survived by her grandparents, Ken and Yvonne Horton; an uncle, Joshua Horton; and a great-grandmother, Sara Nester. A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 18, 2015, at 3:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with Dr. Jon Cawley officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 until 2:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to The NICU Fund at Novant Health Foundation, Forsyth Medical Center, 3333 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the Women’s Health and NICU staff at Forsyth Medical Center and the staff at Lyndhurst Gynecologic Associates.
