Miss Madie Magdaline Goad, 66, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Miss Goad was born May 11, 1946, in Surry County, to the late Deshazo Wimbish and Nannie Lou Deatherage Goad. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Faith Community Church. She is survived by a son, Bobby Goad of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, Bobby Dillan, Bridgett LeAnn Goad, and Juliana Lupinacci, all of Mount Airy; two sisters, Kittie Mae Goad of Mount Airy and Sally L. Horner of Robbins; a brother, Kenneth Ray Goad of Mount Airy; and two girls whom she raised as her daughters, Kaila English and Ashley Tilley, both of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Miss Goad was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lisa Ann Chappell; and a sister, Virginia Millard. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Jimmy Felts and the Rev. James Quesinberry officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Bethel Moravian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.
