Maggie Jane Senter Upchurch

Mrs. Maggie Jane Senter Upchurch age 94 of 44 Upchurch Lane, Lambsburg, VA, wife of 77 years to Mr. Dennis Upchurch passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 at home. She was a loving Christian mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Mrs. Upchurch was born May 25, 1917 in Carroll County VA to the late Ambours and Goldie Donabell Crotts Senter. She was a charter member of the Friendly Tabernacle, a charter member of Bottom Road Tabernacle and was currently a member of the Truth To Life Apostolic Church of Lambsburg. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Gene Pressley, Lincolnton, NC, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Shirley Upchurch, Denver, NC, Hurley and Tammy Upchurch, Mt. Airy, NC and Dennis Junior Upchurch, Mt. Airy, NC. 29 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren, 34 great-great grandchildren, and a sister, Rachel Smith, Lambsburg, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Upchurch was preceded in death by a daughter, Mildred Marie Latham, and three sons, Carlos James Upchurch, Wayne Eugene Upchurch and Bernard Arswood Upchurch, and several sisters and brothers. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. James Easter and Rev. Richard Cavey. Burial will follow in the Edwards/Upchurch Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 Tuesday at Moody Funeral Home.
