Malbert Franklin Davis, Jr

Mr. Malbert Franklin Davis, Jr., 84, of Mount Airy, passed away early Saturday morning, July 4, 2015, at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living Facility. Mr. Davis was born June 13, 1931, in Surry County, one of five children born to the late Malbert Franklin Davis, Sr. and Mary Worrell Davis. Malbert served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Along with his family, he owned and operated Davis Rooms and Apartments in Mount Airy for many years. He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Joy and Bill Whitman of Greensboro; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert W. and Joyce "Bootie" Davis of Lowgap. In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Davis and Judy Bryant. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:30 until 10:30 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
