Malcon Levy Hiatt

Mr. Malcon Levy Hiatt, age 77, of Ararat, North Carolina, passed away Saturday evening, March 14, 2026, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Hiatt was born in Surry County, on March 20, 1948, to the late Reid Franklin and Eva Mae Gammons Hiatt. He was a proud veteran of the US Army and was a truck driver for many years until his retirement, proud member of the Renfro Masonic Lodge #691 AF&AM. Mr. Hiatt was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Carolyn Spivey Hiatt; daughters and son-in-law, Michelle and Joey Burkhart, Marie Hiatt; grandchildren, Amber Burkhart, Hannah Wolfe and Joey, Emily Diaz, Ethan Diaz, Eva Diaz; great grandchild, Joseph Wolfe, Chloe Wolfe. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hiatt was preceded in death by his brother, Rayburn Franklin Hiatt. The family will hold a private graveside service to honor Mr. Hiatt’s at Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Jeff Wall officiating. Per Mr. Hiatt’s request there will not be any formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
