Malinda Lowe Chaney

Ms. Malinda Lowe Chaney, 69, of 186 Fisher Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Monday morning, September 21, 2015, at her home. Ms. Chaney was born December 12, 1945, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Newell Anderson Lowe, II and Vergie Atkins Lowe. Malinda retired as a juvenile case worker from the North Carolina Court System and was a member of Union Hill Friends Meeting. She is survived by her caregiver, Kim Allen of the home; a brother, Newell Anderson “Andy” Lowe, III; and special cousins, Bobby Hauser, Pat Smith, and Kathy Dehart, all of Mount Airy, Beverly Payne of Franklin, TN, and Jan Woodson of Henderson. A service of worship and celebration of Malinda’s life will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Union Hill Friends Meeting, with the Rev. Fonda Younger officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Union Hill Friends Meeting, 2315 Red Brush Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
