Mrs. Malzie Louise Casstevens Beasley, 89 of Mount Airy, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Beasley was born March 17, 1934, in Surry County to the late John Henry and Cora Ineze Beck Casstevens. Malzie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Teresa Beasley Richardson, Debra Beasley Anderson and Roger; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Beasley and Lynn; grandchildren, Emily Richardson, Stephanie Haymore and Brad, Austin Beasley; great-grandchildren, Hudson Haymore, Addilyn Haymore; sister and brothers-in-law, Alene Casstevens Cail and Bill, Dennis Blackburn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill Casstevens and Billie, Charles Casstevens and Karen, Graham Casstevens and Sandra, Homer Casstevens and Shirley, Frances Casstevens, Sandra Casstevens, Linda Casstevens; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beasley was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell A Beasley; daughter, Sandra Holyfield; granddaughter, Ashley Renee Anderson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene Casstevens Blackburn, Mozelle Casstevens Shore and Ray, Annie Mae Casstevens Holder and Billy Jack; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul Casstevens and Nancy, Arvil Casstevens and Jean, Rev. Jack Casstevens, Richard Casstevens, and Delmer Casstevens. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Westside Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Johnson, Dr. Jonathan Casstevens and Mr. Dennis Blackburn officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Westside Baptist Church. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Gloria White, the staff of Surry Community Health and Rehab, the staff of Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home and her Westside Baptist Church family. Strength and Honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eatheth not the bread of idleness. Proverbs 31:25-27. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.
