Margaret Vaughn Frye

Mrs. Margaret Vaughn Frye, 86, of Mount Airy, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at her home. Mrs. Frye was the widow of James F. "Gene" Frye. Mrs. Frye was born May 30, 1924, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Zebulon Vance and Ella Mae Robertson Vaughn. Mrs. Frye was retired from Carter Furniture Company of Mount Airy, and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Airy. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jackie R. Frye of the home and Johnny and Minnie Frye of Siloam; her grandchildren, Joshua R. Frye of Raleigh, Ariel Nicole Frye of Mount Airy, Pvt. Austin R. Frye of Fort Benning, GA, John Dalton Frye of Siloam, and James-Wesley Ridge Frye of Siloam; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Lester Vaughn of Winston-Salem, Donald and Loretta Vaughn of Mount Airy, Bernie and Linda Vaughn of Mount Airy, and Haywood and Anne Vaughn of Mount Airy; special friends, Vance Vaughn of Dobson, Jordana Coe of Mount Airy, Karen Davis Myhand and Gracie Myhand of Harvest, AL, and Amy Sawyers of Mount Airy. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Frye was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Lib Vaughn; and brothers, Herschel Vaughn, Arvil Vaughn, infant brothers, Carl and Carlie Vaughn. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 4:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Dr. Roger B. Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 until 8:00 at the funeral home.
