Margaret Mary Jones

Mrs. Margaret Mary Jones, 81, of Cana, VA, passed away at her residence, Sunday, July 27, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born April 4, 1944, in Carroll County, to the late Larkin Isley Jones and Elizabeth Jane “Bessie” Easter Jones. Mrs. Jones was a very humble wife, mother, grandmother, and sibling, that loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her. Because of her nimble dexterity, she was extremely successful in her textile career. She provided childcare for her family and friends within the community. Mrs. Jones is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela Copenhaver and Rick, Melissa Matthews and Darrin, Patty Jones Gallimore, and Mallary Jones; her cherished grandchildren, Graham Matthews and Lauren, Ryan Copenhaver, Haley Copenhaver and Zach Eisenhardt, Dylan Gallimore, Clarice Matthews, Wes Copenhaver, and Hayden Copenhaver; great-grandchild, John Reid Matthews; sister and brother-in-law, Marie Edwards and Stanley; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clayton Jones and Shirley, Clarence Jones and Joann, Marlie Jones, Murphy Jones and Rosa, L.J. Jones and Terry; sister-in-law, Joan Wright; multiple nieces and nephews. Also cherishing her memory is her special niece, Crystal Haymore and family (Corey, Hope, Worth). In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Paul W Jones; brothers, Garnett Jones, Marvin Jones, Melvin Jones and Bonnie, and sister-in-law, Gracie Jones. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Moody Funeral Home from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM. A celebration of Mrs. Jones’s life will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Justin McCreary and Dr. Darrell Tate officiating. A burial will follow in the Jones-Fleming Cemetery. The family wishes to thank everyone for all the prayers and to everyone that has been a part of Margaret’s life.
