Margaret Julene Howard Sherrill

Mrs. Margaret Julene Howard Sherrill, age 85 of Mount Airy, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 18, 2025 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Sherrill was born on July 1, 1939 in Yazoo, Mississippi to the late Jack and Maggie Little Howard. Julene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her husband of 69 years, Rev. Harry McClure Sherrill; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jay Sherrill (Shelia), Trent Sherrill (Kim), Myron Sherrill (Lisa); grandchildren, Coby, Chase, Bryce, Hallie, and Colt Sherrill, Laura Spence (Eric), Patrick Grenier; Emily Belcher (Scott); seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sherrill was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Michael Sherrill; brothers, Jack and Little Howard. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens with Rev. Harry Sherrill and Dr. Jonathan Casstevens officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon 1:00 PM until time to leave for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family requests no flowers but per Mrs. Sherril, donations may be made in her honor to some needy student in high school or college or to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1427 Edgewood Dr Suite 101, Mt Airy, NC 27030.
