Marvin Waid

Mr. Marvin Waid, age 82, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Waid was born on February 25, 1944, in Orange County, Massachusetts, to the late Cleo Waid and Grace Fisher Waid. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, sibling and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mr. Waid was a man of many traits, he most fondly could be remembered for his faithfulness, witnessing and sharing the bible with others. He was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses-Mount Airy. Mr. Waid also loved many sports, most fondly he loved Nascar. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Gerry Scribner Waid; son, Timothy M. Waid; grandchildren, TJ Waid, Maci Waid; brother, David Waid; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Waid was preceded in death by his sisters, Linda King, Janie Bailey. A celebration of Mr. Waid’s life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses-Mount Airy, with Minister Javier Moreno officiating. There will not be any formal visitation held at this time. Moodys of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Waid family.
