Mary Elizabeth Goins Bowman

Ms. Mary Elizabeth Goins Bowman, 80, of 707 Willow Street, Mount Airy, passed away early Monday morning, May 28, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Ms. Bowman was born March 31, 1932, in Patrick County, VA, the daughter of the late Claude and Ellen Goins. She was reared by Joe and Rosie Haynes and retired from Cross Creek Apparel. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Richard Brown of Dobson; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Dale and Charlotte Bowman of Siloam, and David Bowman and Tony Bowman, both of Mount Airy; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Evelyn Worrell of Mount Airy and Bobbie and Lyle Camp of Greensboro; and two brothers, Arnold Goins and George Goins, both of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Ms. Bowman was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Bowman and Billy Wayne Bowman; a sister, Claudia Lee "Dot" Norman; and a brother, Buddy Goins. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Bowman home, 707 Willow Street, Mount Airy. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is in charge of the cremation and serving the family.
