Mary Louise Bowman

Mrs. Mary Louise Bowman, 81, of 137 Aristocrat Lane, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday morning, May 25, 2011, at her home. Mrs. Bowman was born January 22, 1930, in Surry County, to the late George and Ida Boyd Hiatt. She was a homemaker and attended the True Vine Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ray and Annette Bowman of Mount Airy, and Gene and Penny Bowman and Jimmy Dale Bowman, all of the home; three grandchildren, Adam Bowman, Brandon Bowman, and Tommy Bowman, all of Mount Airy; two sisters, Marie Hiatt and Betty Ann Moorefield, both of Mount Airy; and a brother, Reuben Hiatt of Cleveland, TN. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowman was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Ray Bowman; a daughter, Jane Bowman; and three brothers, James Hiatt, Paul Hiatt, and Eddie Dean Hiatt. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 27, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Winfred Davis, the Rev. Jimmy Slate, and Edgar Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Moody Funeral Services, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030 to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
