Mary Magdalene "Maggie" Bryant

Mrs. Mary Magdalene “Maggie” Hiatt Bryant, 82, of Mt. Airy passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.  She was born in Surry County on December 9, 1935 to the late Jesse and Elva Chandler Hiatt.  Mrs. Bryant was a homemaker and a member of Ivy Green Baptist Church, who will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends.  She is survived by her husband, Rev. Lester Bryant; daughter and son-in-law, Sue Haynes and Mike; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray Bryant and Donna, Sam Bryant and Melissa; grandchildren and spouses, Lester Ray Bryant III and Jill, Jenny Marsh and Brian, Kayla Richardson and Brian, Brandi Thompson and Jacob, Jonathan Johnson, Isaac Bryant, and Zach Bryant; fourteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Bryant, and Donna Bryant; sisters, Mae Bowman, and Hattie Johnson; brothers, Frank Hiatt, and Moir Hiatt.  A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Ivy Green Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Holder officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
