Mary Frances Johnson

Mrs. Mary Frances Bingman Johnson, 76, of Mt. Airy, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center, February 1, 2023.  She was born in Surry County, November 26, 1946, to the late Sam Wesley and Gladys Boles Bingman. Mrs. Johnson retired from Surry-Yadkin Residential and was of the Baptist Faith.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  Mrs. Johnson enjoyed life, spending time with her family and traveling to Pigeon Forge.  She was known as a wonderful cook and for growing beautiful flowers and the many exquisite arrangements she made for family and friends.  Mrs. Johnson made and collected dolls for years.  Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 60 years, Bobby Ray Johnson; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Steve Phillips; son and daughter-in-law, David and Heather Johnson; grandchildren, Lee Phillips, Michael Phillips, Payton Chaney, and Sarah Chaney; great grandchildren, Audrey, Sam, and Jason; a sister, Susan Bingman; and a brother, Herman Boles.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by brothers, Lonnie, Jimmy, and Gray Bingman.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Payne and Rev Joe Lambert officiating.  Burial will follow at Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.  The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Mrs. Johnson’s caregiver, April Simmons, the staff of Forsyth Medical Center, and the staff in the Palliative Care Department.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
