Mary Alice (Clark) Griffin

Mrs. Mary Alice Clark Griffin, age 81 of Mount Airy passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Griffin was born in Surry County on November 3, 1943, to the late Barney Burkett and Connie Inez Hiatt Clark. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Surviving are her six daughters and sons-in-law, Maria Darlene Griffin, Cynthia Griffin Rochelle and Jonathan, Melissa Ann Griffin, Rebecca Inez Griffin, Samantha Griffin Mitchell and Gary, Kristy Elizabeth Griffin; two sons, Jeffrey Wayne Griffin, Edgar Allen Griffin, step-son, David Wayne Griffin; four grandchildren, Stephen Matthew Griffin, Victoria Michelle Griffin, Olivia Rene Robertson, Jennifer Rebecca Griffin, William Taylor Smithey; sisters, Donna Norene Clark, Ramona Inez Clark; two brothers and sister-in-law, Ruben Ephraim Clark and Glenna, Phillip Judson Clark; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Griffin, was preceded in the death by her husband, Edgar Dillard Griffin; and a sister, Shirley Rose Clark. No formal services will be held at this time. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the services.
