Mrs. Mary Lou Draughn Hall, 85, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born July 30, 1928, in Surry County, to the late Johnny Clifford and Elizabeth Christine Gammons Draughn. Mrs. Hall retired from Renfro Corporation and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Carl Dean Hall of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Ronald Heath and Linda Sue and Roger Belton, all of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Vicky Hall of King; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Zettie and Carl Smith of Abingdon, VA, and Jackie and James Shinault and Juanita and Carlos Edwards, all of Mount Airy; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Norma Draughn of Mount Airy, Walter and Shelby Draughn of Danbury, and Roger and Linda Draughn of Dobson; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Leftwich; and two brothers, Clifford Draughn and Arnold Gray Draughn. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 12, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Zane Fishel officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Tina Leonard and the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and the staff of Golden Living Center for the love and care given to Mary. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
