Janet Louise Badgett Hardy

Mrs. Janet Louise Badgett Hardy, age 87, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy. She was born on April 18, 1939, in Surry County to the late Herman and Mary Viola Wagoner Badgett. Mrs. Hardy worked many years as a seamstress and was a very faithful member of Faith Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Richard Hardy and Shelia “She She”, Shelia R. Hardy; grandchild, Jessica Hardy; step grandchild, Heather Lowry and Billy Joe; step great grandchildren, Will Lowry, Sadie Lowry, and Hunter Lowry; sisters-in-law, Mary Kaye Snow, Faye Tucker; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her husband, Roby “R.J.” Hardy. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church with service conducted by Rev. Randy Edwards. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 12:00 PM until time of the service.
