Mary Ann Childress Thomas

Mrs. Mary Ann Childress Thomas, age 85, of Dobson, NC passed away on Thursday morning November 13, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born in Surry County on July 21, 1929 to the late Harry Childress and the late Mallie Jackson Childress. in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Sue Thomas; infant son Roger Gray Thomas; a sister Bonnie Edwards; a brother Bobby Childress. She was a member of Double Creek Church of Christ and retired from Head Start. Surviving is her husband Jesse James Thomas of the home; five sons and two daughters-in-law Jimmy Thomas of Pilot Mountain, Mark Thomas of Mt. Airy, Tim and Cindy Thomas of Mt. Airy, NC, Michael and Kim Thomas of Dobson, Charlie Thomas of Dobson; five grandchildren Emily and William Dallas, Chad Thomas, Jessica Thomas, Halee Coe; three great grandchildren Luke Dallas, Mason Dallas, Vivian Lowe; special nephew Philip Edwards. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday morning November 15, 2015 at Double Creek Church of Christ with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Roger Stickmiller will conduct the services. The family will receive friends on Saturday morning at Double Creek Church of Christ from 10:00 AM until the time of her service at 11:00 AM. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Thomas family.
