Master Trooper Jason Richard Vindich, age 50, of Mount Airy passed away unexpectedly on Sunday January 25, 2026, at his home. He was born in Lebanon County, PA, April 5, 1975, the son of Judy Page Vindich and the late Larry Vindich Sr. Mr. Vindich he attended Potomac State College and later graduated from Coastal Carolina University where he excelled as a catcher on the baseball team. He has been a Master Trooper with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol for 23 years. Mr. Vindich was a member of Round Peak Masonic Lodge and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Frances Atkins Vindich; his children, Matthew Vindich, Sasha Vindich and deceased child Sophia Page Vindich. He is also survived by his mother, Judy Page Vindich and his mother-in-law, Eleanor Atkins. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Vindich Sr., and his brother, J.R. Vindich. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 9, 2026, 2:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mount Airy, NC with Bishop Brian Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Indian Grove Community Cemetery with burial rites by the North Carolina Highway Patrol Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 PM. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is serving the Vindich family.
