Matthew Doyle Burke

Mr. Matthew Doyle Burke (Lil Burke), 34, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Burke was born January 22, 1991, in Surry County, to James Hardin Burke and Lisa Golding. He was a loving father, son, brother and friend, he’ll be deeply missed by all who knew him. Surviving Lil Burke is his mother, Lisa Golding (Sidney); father, James Hardin Burke (Theresa); children, Kenley Doyle Burke, Everlee Ann; sister, Clara Isabelle Burke; brothers, James Andrew Burke, Hunter Garrett Burrell; maternal grandparents, Artis and Jean Golding; special nephews, Ashton Burke, Addison Burke; aunt, Shelia Dempsey; uncle, Charles Golding; many dear cousins and extended family. A celebration of Lil Burke’s life will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, with Eddie Beasley officiating. Burial will follow in the Golding Family Cemetery in Lowgap. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at Moody Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Burke family.
