Maxie Mae Wall Norman Hudson Gammons

Maxie Mae Wall Norman Hudson Gammons, 92, of Surry County, North Carolina went home to be with the Lord July 28, 2025. Born July 1, 1933, to the late Sam and Alma Hill Wall. Maxie was a member of Anchored in Jesus Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a farmer and in textiles. She was well known for cooking, which she enjoyed doing along with canning, gardening, caregiving and making quilts. Left to cherish her memory is her children and in-laws, Ronnie Norman and Tammy, Kathy Sprinkle and Ronnie, Ronald Norman and Gail, Danny Norman, and Janice Ashburn and Ricky; grandchildren, Wendy and Jeff Thompson, Jason and Heather Tucker, Dean and Nichole Ashburn, Josh and Crystal Norman, Brian Norman, and Jeremy and Tiffany Ashburn; great grandchildren, Andrew Tucker, Camryn Seagraves, Dallas Ashburn, Parker Ashburn, Ryleigh Ashburn, and Raelyn Ashburn; brother-in-law, Alvis Cook; as well as numerus step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Clement Norman, Clayton Hudson and Zoy Gammons; son, Randall Norman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond Wall and Margie, Curtis Wall, and Glenn Wall and Mary; sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy Collins and Henry, Stacy Wall, Nellie Hardy and Wayne, and Carolyn Cook; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Norman. The family will receive friends Friday, August 1, 2025, from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Pine Hill Church. A funeral service will take place Friday, August 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Pine Hill Church with Bro. Larry Stone officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to recognize the staff of Twelve Oaks Memory Care Unit for the wonderful care they provided for Maxie during her stay with them. Special thanks and love to the Gammons family.
