Megan Leigh Watkins, age 38 of Meadows of Dan, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. She was born on October 15, 1986, in Portsmouth, VA, to David Jonathon Watkins, Jr., and Linda Baker Watkins. Megan spent a lifetime fighting her mental illness and was proud to have gotten a recent handle on those issues. At the end of her life, she fought hard to stay with all the people she loved so dearly. She never once gave up her fight to stay with her loved ones, and in the end, she went to be with her Lord and Savior. Megan was known for her infectious personality and beautiful smile. She loved her friends and family fiercely and touched everyone she met. She loved music her whole life and recently fell in love with Jesus Christ and spent her last months teaching her child about His special love. Megan’s favorite thing in this world was spending time with her children by the beach or by the river.
In addition to her parents, Megan is survived by her seven beloved children, Patrick Pascal, Paul Pascal, Peyton Pascal, Myles Pettigrew, Adori Watkins, Sa’mille Watkins, and Estelle Butler; two sisters, Demi Watkins (Guy Marvin Powers) and Ashley Hubbard (Everett). As well as many beloved friends and family members.
A celebration of life to honor Megan will be held on her birthday, Wednesday, October 15, 2025, starting at 6:00 P.M. at Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Samuel Leonard officiating. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.moodyfuneralservice.com.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Megan’s best friend, Shannon Walker, for the endless support and love she has always shown to Megan, who considered Shannon as another sister, and for all the love and support she has shown Megan’s family.
