Melinda Jean Hawks

Melinda Jean Hawks, 42, of Mount Airy, North Carolina, passed away on June 30th, 2025 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Melinda was born in Galax, Virginia, the daughter of Bobby Hawks and Viola Hawks. Melinda got married to her first husband and they had a daughter, Alexis Marie Vogler. Melinda went on to work at many assisted living facilities as a CNA and a MED-tech. She loved her job and she loved her patients. She loved being able to bring a smile to someone’s face when she was able to. Melinda loved to do anything crafty. She loved painting. And coloring. She loved to do crosswords and her favorite was word searches. Melinda was of the Baptist and although she was not a member of a church she was a firm believer in the Lord above. She would pray and read her bible as much as she could. She would praise him every chance she got. There is not one specific memory that makes Melinda special. Every memory makes Melinda special, because without the good and the bad there would be no Melinda. We want to always cherish all the memories that we have of her, because all of them are precious. Remaining to cherish Melinda’s memory are her daughter, Alexis Marie Olmos-Martinez. Her grandchildren, Adalina Marie Olmos-Martinez, Alondra Hazel Olmos-Martinez, and Calihan Noah Olmos-Martinez. Her mother, Viola Kay Hawks. Her brother Donnie and her sisters Annette, Tonia, Amanda, Brenda, Barbara, Sarah, and Tambra. Preceding Melinda in death are all the loved ones that went before her. They are welcoming her with open arms to a whole and new body that is pure and free and light and joyous again ! There will be no formal services for Mrs. Hawks at this time.
