Michael Kenneth Collins

Mr. Michael Kenneth Collins, age 70, of Elkin, NC passed away at his home on August 21, 2023.  He was born in Surry County on March 16, 1953, to the late Grady Lee Collins and the late Evelyn Elizabeth Adams Collins.

He was retired from Louisiana Pacific, a member of Union Cross Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Paula Royal Collins, a sister Judy Collins Bell, a brother Gary Lee Collins.  Surviving is his wife, Brenda Royall Rachel; stepdaughter, Sheena Rachels and spouse, Cecily Rachels; mother-in-law Dorothy Royall; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Glenda and Mike Church; sister Carolyn Collins Simmons; nephews Andy and Shannon Collins; David and Samantha Collins; sister-in-law Bonnie Collins; Special best friends, Robby and Betty Tilley. The family would like to give his caregivers a special thanks for the love and care given to Mike, Angie, Sonya, Emily and Mandy.  A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 PM Monday August 28, 2023, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care 1427 Edge Wood Drive, Suite 101 Mt. Airy, NC 27030.
