Michael Gordon McKinney

Michael Gordon McKinney, beloved husband and wonderful father, 58, of 389 Cedar Knoll Drive, Mount Airy, NC. passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, March 1, 2013. He was born on September 1, 1954, in Surry County to Robert and JoAnn Tolbert McKinney. Mr. McKinney was owner of McKinney Builders. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of Round Peak Masonic Lodge #616 AF & AM, and Oasis Shriners. Mr. McKinney served as the President of the Surry County Homebuilders Association for several years. Surviving are his wife Robin McKinney and son, Taron McKinney, of the home. Also surviving are his parents, Robert and Jo Ann McKinney of Mount Airy. He was preceded in death by his brother Patrick "Pat" McKinney. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 3, 2013 by Dr. Jon Cawley and Rev. Alex Martin at Calvary Baptist Church.
