Mildred Faye Morris Marshall

Mrs. Mildred Faye Morris Marshall, age 86, of Mount Airy passed away on Friday evening, July 4, 2025, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Marshall was born on March 27, 1939, in Durham County, North Carolina to the late Ernest Franklin and Lelia Virginia Hawks Morris. Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Leonard Carl Marshall, Jr and wife Tondrea; grandchildren, Ashley, Dusty, and Rusty Marshall, Joshua Cockerham; great-grandchild, Casen Marshall; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine Morris Carlisle, Loyce Morris Sowers and Curtis, Melody Morris Slaughter and Steven. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Carl Marshall, Sr; daughter, Vicky Cockerham; brother, Kenneth Morris; son-in-law, Eddie Cockerham. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Ivy Green Baptist Church with Rev. Robert McCrary officiating. Burial will follow in the Morris Family Cemetery in Fancy Gap, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 PM until the time for the service at the church.
