Mildred "Millie" Ann Jones

Mrs. Mildred “Millie” Ann Byrd Jones, age 76, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020, at home.  Mrs. Jones was born in Surry County on July 22, 1943, to Charles and Addie Meyers Byrd.  She was retired from Proctor Silex after 39 years of service.  She also worked at Dollar General and volunteered at Northern Regional Hospital.  Among the many who will always cherish her sweet memory are a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and David Hill; grandchildren, Chrissy and Brad Beasley, Amanda and Jason Bernhardt, David Owens-Hill and Kieran McCaughey; great grandchildren, Gracie Ann Beasley, Willow Hill, Brinley Bernhardt; and her special dog Moochie.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Woodrow Jones and a grandson, Andy Hill.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, 401 Technology Ln, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.  All services will be private.
