Miriam Heather Gillespie Chappell

Mrs. Miriam Heather Gillespie Chappell, 55, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Chappell was born January 16, 1960, in Managua, Nicaragua, to Teresa "Tee" Hulon Gillespie and the late Leroy Gillespie. Heather was employed at Partners Behavioral Health Care and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Chappell of the home; a daughter, Leigh Ann Davis of Pfafftown; two grandchildren, Taelyn Davis and Laekyn Davis, both of Pfafftown; her mother, Teresa "Tee" Hulon Gillespie of Lowgap; a sister, Lisa Gillespie of Lowgap; and a brother, Mark Gillespie of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Friday, August 7, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Alton Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, and other times at the home of her mother, 6648 West Pine Street, Lowgap. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
