Miss Hattie Easter

Miss Hattie Easter, 96 of Mt. Airy passed away at Northern Hospital of Surry County on Thursday, October 15, 2015. She was born in Carroll County, VA on October 4, 1919 to the late Hillary Michael and Sarah Esther Easter. She retired from Renfro Corporation, but she continued to work as an in home sitter for many years. Miss Easter remained independent throughout her life, continuing to drive and renewing license at age 96. She was a faithful member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memories are several nieces and nephews; special nephew, Larry Easter and his wife, June of Siler City; a special great nephew, Stephen Easter; caring friends, Donald and Carol Thomas. In addition to her parents, Miss Easter was preceded in death by her four brothers, Howard, Harley, Homer and Alvis Easter. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. David Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
