Miss Margaret Fayetta Niten

Miss Margaret Fayetta Niten, 61, of 276 Duplex Lane, Ararat, VA, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Miss Niten was born August 4, 1952, in Patrick County, VA, to the late William Lawrence and Eunice Marie Bowman Niten. Margaret served our country in the United States Army. She is survived by five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Janie Booth and Jean and Marshall Gordy, all of Pilot Mountain, Elizabeth Essick of Mount Airy, Brenda Scales of Ararat, VA, and Judy Mount of Colorado Springs, CO; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen and Judy Niten of Ararat, VA, Oral and Darlene Niten of North Wilkesboro, and Richard and Elizabeth Niten of Mount Airy; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Miss Niten was preceded in death by a sister, Emily East; and a brother, William Niten. The family is planning a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to Ararat Volunteer Fire Department, 5082 Ararat Hwy, Ararat, VA 24053 or the Ararat Volunteer Rescue Squad, 4690 Ararat Hwy, Ararat, VA 24053.
