Moir Dale Marsh

Mr. Moir Dale Marsh, 80 of Cana, VA, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 21, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 6, 1946, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Moir Coolidge “MC” Marsh and Eva Norte Burnett Marsh. He retired from State Electric and was a Deacon of Rocky Ford Christian Church for 28 years. Dale was an avid New York Yankees fan. He was a passionate leader of the community and volunteered at the food drive in Cana for many years. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Linda Sue Easter Marsh of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Stephen Nester of Ararat, VA; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Terri Marsh of Cana, Jerry and Sheila Marsh of Cana, and Robbie and Lisa Marsh of Lowgap; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 2 on the way; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol and Roger Jarrell of Mount Airy, and Gail and Kenny Hiatt of Cana; brother, Don Marsh and his significant other Barbara McMillian of Cana; several nieces and nephews; and many more family and friends. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by a niece, Shelly Rector; and a special cousin, Pam Marsh. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 2:00pm at Rocky Ford Christian Church with Rev. John McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night, July 24, 2026, at Rocky Ford Christian Church from 6:00pm until. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
