Moir Henry Whitaker, Jr

Mr. Moir Henry Whitaker, Jr., 55, husband of Brenda Sue Atkins Whitaker, of Dobson passed away Tuesday August 1, 2006 at W. G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born in Surry County on September 29, 1950 to Beatrice Brendle Whitaker and the late Moir Henry Whitaker, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served our country during the Vietnam War. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of the home; a son and daughter-in-law Moir Henry "Hank" Whitaker III and Tracie of Dobson, NC; two grandsons Tyler Mason and Clay Matthew Whitaker; his mother Beatrice Brendle Whitaker of Dobson, NC; three sisters and brothers-in-law Sue and Jay Coe of Dobson, NC, Thea and Robin Miller of Cleveland, NC and Emily and Mike Hawkins of Elkin, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday August 4, 2006 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home of Dobson with Rev. Jimmy Lawton officiating and burial to follow in Stony Knoll Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
