Monty Dale Vernon

Mr. Monty Dale Vernon, age 70, of Mt. Airy, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at his home. He was born on June 6, 1955 in Surry County to Joanne Gentry Vernon and the late Jack Vernon. Monty will surely be missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Joanne Gentry Vernon; nephew and niece, Joshua Atkins (Angel), Amanda Dudek (Mark); great-nieces and nephew, Kayden Atkins, Madison Dudek, and Emma Dudek; very special friend and caregiver in his life, Sharon Haynes; other special friends, Steve Doss, William Whitaker, Donna Newman, Linda and Tyler Collins; neighbors, Norma Jennings and Ryan Jennings as well as numerous cousins and friends. In addition to his father Mr. Vernon was preceded in death by a sister, Jackie Vernon Atkins; brother, Mark Anthony Vernon, and a brother-in-law, Tommy Atkins. There will be no formal services at this time.
