Mr. Alfred Perkins Brammer

Mr. Alfred Perkins Brammer, age 68 of Woolwine, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Patrick County on July 30, 1947, and was preceded in death by his mother, Fannie Roberson, two half-brothers, Buddy Creasey and Joyce Brammer, and one foster sister, Doris Shelor. Mr. Brammer attended Nashville Auto Diesel College in Nashville, Tennessee and was an entrepreneur of several small businesses. He served two years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and 22 years with the National Guard Reserves. He was a member of Fairystone Baptist Church, Masonic Home Lodge #263, Kazim Shriners Temple, and Stuart Rotary Club.

Mr. Brammer is survived by his wife, Patricia Philpott Brammer of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Alison and Matthew Barnes of Bassett; two sons and a daughter-in-law, John Alan and Shani Brammer of Woolwine and Tommy Brammer of Arizona; four granddaughters; and one half brother and sister-in-law, Troy and Janie Brammer of Fieldale; and two foster siblings, Roy Scales and Avoy Glover.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Tim Hunt officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard and Masonic rites will be conducted by Masonic Home Lodge #263. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Stuart Rotary Club (Polio Fund), P.O.
