Mr. Arthur Jay Guynn

Mr. Arthur Jay Guynn age 78 of 297 Parkside Dr., Fancy Gap, VA husband of Mrs. Cara Lannie Guynn passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Twin County Regional Healthcare in Galax, VA. He was born November 5, 1935 in Carroll County to the late Edgar and Gladys "Sis" McMillian Guynn. He was a retired produce dealer and was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are his wife, Cara Lannie Guynn of the home, three daughters, Hope Nester and fiancé, Dale Edmonds of Hillsville, VA, Bessie Goins and husband, Wayne of Lowgap, NC and Geralline Quesinberry and friend, Bruce Smith of Dobson, NC, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three sisters, Rose Goad of and Leona Freeman both of Fancy Gap, VA and Tiny Midkiff of Hillsville, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Guynn was preceded in death by a sister, Louise King and a brother, Matthew Guynn. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cana, VA. The service will be conducted by Rev. Grover Guynn, Rev. Winston Puckett and Rev. Travis Lloyd. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:30 pm Wednesday until time of the funeral service at Oak Grove Baptist Church.
