Mr. Arthur "Richard" Puckett, age 55 of Stuart passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013, at his home. He was born in Martinsville on February 14, 1958 to the late Noel Richard Puckett and Vivian Brooks Puckett. He served in the United States Air Force, and worked as a contractor supply salesman for 34 years. He served on the Stuart Town Council and was a member of the Patrick County Jaycees where he enjoyed working with the Beach Music Festival's Hot Fun in the Summertime Productions.
Mr. Puckett is survived by his wife Karan Puckett of the home; two sons, Seth Puckett of Greensboro, North Carolina and Ben Puckett of Greenville, North Carolina; a daughter, Sarah Puckett of Boone, North Carolina; three brothers, Rich Puckett of Sarasota, Florida, Walter Gilbert Puckett of Martinsville and Mark Puckett of Collinsville; and two sisters, Robin Kay Summerlin of Axton and Kim Puckett Moore of Greensboro.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Rusty Reaser officiating. Burial will follow in Bouldin Memorial Presbyterian Church cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Patrick County Christmas Cheer, P.O. Box 222, Stuart, Virginia 24171 or to the Benny Summerlin Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1124, Martinsville, Virginia 24114.
