Mr. Arville Emmett Sawyers, age 73 of High Point, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013 at his home. Mr. Sawyers was born in Patrick County on December 2, 1939 to Monroe and Helen Bateman Sawyers. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to so many. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. Mr. Sawyers was retired from R. J. Reynolds, Inc. Surviving is his loving wife, Edith Bowman Sawyers of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Jamie Sawyers of High Point; grandchildren; Suzanne Morgan and husband Mark of Fuquay Varina; Kevin Sawyers and wife Jennie of Canton, GA, Krissy Sawyers of Fayetteville, Lauren McClintock and husband Chris of High Point, Joshua Harrelson of High Point and Erica Harrelson also of High Point, great grandchildren, Isaac Sawyers, Maylee Sawyers, Max Sawyers, Roxie Sawyers, Cael Morgan, Emmett Morgan, Wyatt Morgan, Landon Sawyers and Kinlee McClintock; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry Sawyers and Gary and Lisa Sawyers all of Ararat, VA, Randall and Heidi Sawyers of Mooresville and Milford and Sonya Sawyers of Mt. Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sawyers was preceded in death by a sister Linda Dollyhigh. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Doe Run Baptist Church by Rev. Terry Vaughn and Rev Homer Bowman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until the hour of the service.
