Mr. Auston Edward "Nook" Reeves, 84, of Lowgap passed away peacefully on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home after an extended illness. He was born in Surry County on June 24, 1928 to the late Auston and Ruie Faw Reeves. Mr. Reeves was retired from Sowers Construction where he worked as a heavy duty equipment operator and was a dedicated member of Anchored in Jesus Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served our country during the Korean War. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 years, Lutricia Easter Reeves of the home; four sons and three daughters-in-law, James "Jim" Reeves of Hillsville, VA, Larry and Donna Reeves of North Wilkesboro, Timothy "Tim" and Mary Ann Reeves of Fredericksburg, VA and Philip and Janet Reeves of Leesburg, VA; ten beloved grandchildren and an expectant great-grandchild; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Elbert and Ellen Reeves of Debary, FL, Marvin Reeves and Don Reeves, both of Martinsville, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Reeves was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Casey Reeves; an infant sister and five brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday August 27, 2012 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by Rev. Larry Stone with burial to follow in the Anchored In Jesus Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 pm at Moody-Davis Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Anchored In Jesus Baptist Church Building Fund PO Box 822 Dobson, NC 27017.
