Mr. Barry Phillip Pack

Mr. Barry Phillip Pack, age 57 of Stuart passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born on Oct. 21, 1957 in Martinsville, VA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Vicki Michele Pack Pate. Barry retired as a Senior Trooper with the Virginia State Police after 25 years of service. With the State Police he had also been a Driving and Range Instructor and a K-9 Handler. Prior to his service with the State Police he had been a Deputy Sheriff with the Henry County Sheriff's Department and then the Greene County Sheriff's Department. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a rescue swimmer and was credited with saving many lives.

Surviving are his wife, Jackie Barbour Pack of the home; a daughter, Kelly Marie Pack Walton of Stuart; one grandson, Jacob Ray Walton; and his parents, Elwood and Marie P. Pack of Stuart.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Keith Vernon officiating. Burial will follow in the Haley-Pack Family Cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be members of the Virginia State Police Honor Guard.
