Mr. Billie Akers Lawson

Mr. Billie Akers Lawson, age 72 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Northern Surry Hospital in Mount Airy, North Carolina. He was born in Patrick County on December 3, 1935 to the late Willie E. and Martha Jane McHone Lawson. He had worked for the V.R. Williams Estate, United Elastic Corporation, Stuart Lumber, and most recently in the Maintenance Department at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center.
Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife, Elsie Martin Lawson of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Joan L. and Micky Rodgers of Lawsonville, North Carolina; one sister, Georgia L. Shelton of Stuart; and one niece, Kathy Young of Danbury, North Carolina.
Funeral services for Mr. Lawson will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Rev. Curtis Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart, and at other times at the home on Dobyns Road.
