Mr. Billy Ray Bruner, age 74, of Ararat, NC passed away on Sunday evening May 17, 2015 at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry Co on August 22, 1940 to the late Lacy Martin Bruner and the late Hester Cummings Bruner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Bobby Bruner. Mr. Bruner was a Farmer and a member of Pilot Mountain Community Church, he also worked in later years at the Surry County Recycling Center. Surviving are his wife Mrs. Hilda Hutson Bruner of the home; one daughter and son-in-law Diane Bruner LeGue and Charles David LeGue of Siloam; one son and daughter-in-law Russell and Tena Bruner of Pilot Mountain; five grandchildren Jessica LeGue, Jennia Turney, Destiny Bruner, Hope Bruner, Colton Bruner; two great grandchildren Mylee Turney, Laci Jo Turney; two sisters Norma Taylor of Dobson, Evelyn Alred of Dobson; eight brothers and six sisters-in-law Dean and Carolyn Bruner of Level Cross, Larry Bruner of Mt. Airy, Ricky and Laverne Bruner of Ararat, NC, Curtis and Nancy Bruner of Dobson, Timmy and Donna Bruner of Mt. Airy, Steve and Anita Bruner of Mt. Airy, Greg Bruner of Dobson, Dwight and Vicky Bruner of Mt. Airy. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday May 20, 2015 at Little Mountain Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Dale Bass and Rev. Steve Johnson will conduct the services. His body will remain at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson until Carried to the Church to lie in state 30 min before the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family wants to give a special thanks to his care givers Betty Stanley, and Kim Curley, also to Mount Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, and to the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.
