Mr. "Buck" Glen David Edwards

Mr. "Buck" Glen David Edwards, age 70 of Mt. Airy, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Edwards was born in Surry County on March 18, 1944 to the late Glen and Cora Belle Mayes Edwards. He was retired from Scenic Ford Motor Company and was a member of Ladonia Baptist Church. Surviving are his devoted wife, Gloria Jean Wood Edwards; daughters and a son-in-law, Angie and Joe Woodruff and Lois Edwards; sons and daughters-in-law, Teddy and Julie Edwards and Danny and Patricia Edwards; grandchildren, Zachary Edwards and wife Jessica, Madalyn Grace Edwards, Ryan Andrew Woodruff and Titus Alexander Woodruff; a great granddaughter, Kabrey Addison Edwards and one great grandson on the way and by brothers, Bobby Edwards, Henry Edwards and friend Lu Ann Lovelace and Lester Edwards and friend Nedra Edwards. In addition to his parents, Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Carol "Jean" Edwards. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Ladonia Baptist Church by Rev. Tony Holder. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday at the church beginning at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030 or to Ladonia Baptist Church, 163 Raven Rock Rd., Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express a very special thanks to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home as well as Linda Collins and Sheila Craddock for the wonderful care given to Mr. Edwards.
