Mr. Carlie McKinley Creed

Mr. Carlie McKinley Creed, age 81, of Ararat, NC died at his home on Wednesday morning June 4, 2014. He was born in Surry County September 10, 1932 to the late McKinley Creed and the late Rena Sawyers Creed. He was married to his loving wife Pauline Elizabeth Crissman Creed for over 60 Years. He was retired from Renfro Hosiery, and was a member of Bryant's Chapel Baptist Church for several years. He is survived by his wife; one daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Horace Surratt of Ararat, NC; one granddaughter and husband Amanda and David Herring, of Ararat, NC; one sister and brother-in-law Beatrice and Ralph Gwyn of Mt. Airy; one brother and sister-in-law Sanford and Margaret Creed of Ararat, NC; by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Thelma Creed, and Maude Adams; by three brothers Hassell Creed, Leonard Creed, and J.E. Creed. Funeral service will be held Saturday morning June 7, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Bryant's Chapel Baptist Church with Burial in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Larry Crouse, Rev. Jason Johnson, and Rev. Steve Johnson will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Bryant's Chapel Baptist Church on Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and at other times at his home.
