Mr. Cecil D France

Mr. Cecil D France, age 88 of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Northern Hospital. Mr. France was born in Surry County on September 28, 1925 to Aaron Thomas and Lucy Ledford France. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy during WWII and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church. Mr. France was retired from Community Heating & Plumbing of Greensboro. Surviving are his wife, Pansy Key France; a son David France; a sister, Eva Cochran; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Joan France; sisters-in-law, Doris Vernon and husband Charles, Sue Shaw and husband Don, Lois King and Jane King and a brother-in-law, Stan King and wife Joan. In addition to his parents, Mr. France was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Goldie King France; brothers, Fred France and Bill France and a sister, Alma Marion. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens with military honors by VFW Memorial Honor Guard, Mt. Airy Post 2019 & Pilot Mountain Post 9436. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
