Mr. Cecil Alan Handy

Mr. Cecil A. Handy, age 87 of Stuart, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at his home. He was born in Patrick County on June 8, 1927 to the late Samuel Anderson Handy and Elizabeth Boyd Handy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Light; a step daughter, Lula Lankford; two step sons, Jesse and Rayvon Light; three sisters, Cassie Cockram, Frances Smith, Ruby Handy; and five brothers, Troy, Lee, Ralph, Raymond, and James Edgar Handy.

Surviving are two daughters, Ann Cruise of Patrick Springs, Phyllis Holt of Mt. Airy, NC; one son, Cecil “Junior” Light of Lawsonville, NC; two step daughters, Mary Tatman of Hartfield, Shirley Roof of Kerr, OH; one step son, Leon Light of Patrick Springs; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Cockram and Leona Goad both of Patrick Springs; one brother, Arnold Handy of Ruffin, NC; several nieces and nephews; and a special nephew, Alan Goad.
