Mr. Charles William Gates

Mr. Charles William Gates, age 56 of Ararat, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at his home. He was born in Surry County, North Carolina on November 5, 1957 to the late Kermit Edgar Gates and Lucille Nina Gates. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gates was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar Silas Gates.
Mr. Gates is survived by two sisters, Frances Marie "Frankie" Gates Phelps and husband, Luke, of Portsmouth and Susan Pale and husband, Dempsey, of Mount Airy, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sharon King Duncan and Scott Reynolds, of Ararat.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, November 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Hunters Chapel Church Cemetery with Brother Ricky Rogers officiating.
