Mr. Charles Mitchell Smith

Mr. Charles Mitchell Smith, age 65, of Cana, VA, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, at Salem VA Medical Center. Mr. Smith was born in Carroll County on June 26, 1951, to Charles Arnold and Beulah Boyd Smith. He proudly served our county in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Mitchell was truly an inspiration to so many, he will be dearly missed. Surviving is his sister, Rebecca Smith; brothers and a sister-in-law, Boyd and Judy Smith; and Spencer Smith; a niece Erica Smith and many wonderful cousins and friends. All services for Mr. Smith will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Willow Hill Moravian Church, 577 Willow Hill Rd., Ararat, VA 24053 or to Crooked Oak Moravian Church, 76 Flower Gap Rd., Cana, VA 24317.
